Introducing Shimla
Until the British arrived, nothing but the brunette in Shimla (the local name for black), known as a sleepy forest was full of trees. In 1822, a Scottish civil servant Charles Kennedy, then a summer home in Shimla and nothing was ever the same again. Shimla the summer capital of the Raj in 1864 as the official was developed. Every summer until 1939, the Government of India in triplicate filled all the clerks' books and forms, fled the heat of the plains. Map was redrawn in 1966 when the city was briefly the capital of Punjab.
